Role Overview
The Warehouse Worker supports facility-wide logistics through shipping and receiving, material movement, preservation, packaging, storage, and related administrative duties.
The role requires advanced receiving-inspection knowledge, ERP data entry experience, adaptability, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Receiving and Inspection
- Safely unload incoming delivery trucks using forklifts and other mechanical handling aids.
- Review packaging notes and advice notes against purchase orders and required compliance certificates.
- Verify quantities and descriptions, record findings on goods received notes, and process receipts in the ERP system.
- Report discrepancies and damaged items, tag incoming goods, route items for inspection, and distribute receiving paperwork.
- Locate inventory in the correct warehouse location after the ERP receiving process is complete.
Warehouse and Inventory Control
- Maintain stores and goods-in areas, including plant, equipment, tools, and consumables, in a safe, clean, orderly condition.
- Organize warehouse locations, correctly tag and preserve items, and periodically check the physical condition of stored goods.
- Track shelf life and impending expirations, segregate damaged hold goods and dead stock, and control warehouse access.
- Carry out inventory checks and cycle counts, make inventory adjustments, and maintain inventory records in the ERP system.
Picking, Packing and Shipping
- Pick items accurately, check their condition and shelf life, and report discrepancies to the order coordinator.
- Pack materials according to company procedures, construct wooden export crates when required, and protect items during transit.
- Apply required shipping and handling markings and produce shipment labels, customs documents, and address labels through the ERP system.
- Follow customer purchase-order requirements for special marking, inspection, and packing, then distribute paperwork and safely load outgoing trucks.
Compliance and Improvement
- Perform warehousing, receiving, and packaging duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Suggest improvements to established systems and workflows and perform other facility duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three to five years of proven warehouse experience.
- Experience using an ERP system, preferably Oracle, to process inventory from receipt through order dispatch.
- Advanced understanding of receiving inspections and experience entering logistics data into tracking databases or ERP systems.
Location and Schedule
- This is a full-time permanent position based in KEZAD Free Zone in Abu Dhabi.
