Role Overview
Perform complex setups and machine a variety of components on different machine tools.
Work safely and efficiently to meet customer needs while maintaining extremely close tolerances.
Plan machining operations from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety and quality and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Operate lathes, mills, boring mills, grinders, drills, and other required machine tools.
- Perform turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, and grinding.
- Read drawings, sketches, work scopes, procedures, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Use micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
- Maintain equipment through basic preventive maintenance and report troubleshooting or repair needs.
- Complete layouts, dimensional inspections, production logs, quality logs, and shift handover documentation.
- Train other employees in equipment operation, print reading, tooling selection, machining equipment, and repair processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-8 years of experience with rotating turbo machinery.
- Advanced rigging capabilities.
- Advanced machining capabilities on manual lathes.
- Experience with turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
- Ability to work to extremely close tolerances and accurately record dimensional inspections.
Base Location and Schedule
- Full-time, on-site, permanent position based at the Repair Facility in KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi.
