Role Overview

Walmart Global Tech is hiring a Software Engineer III for its Critical Infrastructure Automation and Observability team.

The role develops a zero-touch networking platform that automates infrastructure operations at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design the intent-based networking layer within the Zero-Touch Networking stack.
  • Build configuration managers, orchestrators, workflow engines, and remediation pipelines.
  • Develop APIs and microservices for internal self-service networking.
  • Build in observability, alerting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, SRE, operations, and product management.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and support resilient operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience building production-grade infrastructure automation platforms at scale.
  • Expertise in intent-based networking, infrastructure as code, and network systems.
  • Backend development experience with Go and Python.
  • Experience with Django, Kafka or NATS, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, test automation, and Git-based workflows.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience, or 4 years of software engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
  • Experience with microservices, RESTful or graph APIs, and high-availability systems.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, SDN/NFV, and network automation.
  • Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, monitoring, and observability tooling.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural direction.
  • Experience with zero-touch provisioning and autonomous network operations.
