Team and role

The returns engineering team is seeking engineers to write and own code in a fast-paced, results-driven agile environment.

The role supports the Walmart iOS app, which serves more than 2.5 million daily active users and has over 10 million downloads.

What you will do

  • Maintain the Walmart iOS app and its submodules at scale.
  • Collaborate with peers and architects to design, develop, and co-own feature delivery.
  • Instrument and trace bugs and performance gaps, and build supporting tools and libraries.
  • Build proofs of concept for platform-specific capabilities and Walmart use cases.
  • Deliver omnichannel experiences connecting digital app processes with in-store physical interactions.
  • Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

What you will bring

  • 3-5 years of experience as an iOS developer with deep understanding of iOS UX and UI design paradigms.
  • Experience with Swift is required.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time-complexity analysis.
  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation.
  • Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Experience applying object-oriented design patterns and reactive programming.
  • Experience integrating iOS apps with GraphQL APIs.
  • A bachelor's degree plus 2 years of software engineering experience, or 4 years of software engineering experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • A master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related area is preferred.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices is valued.

Workplace

  • The role is based in the Bangalore or Chennai office for daily work.
