Role Overview
Support hyperscale data center construction programs as a mechanical engineer focused on new building design, operational engineering solutions, and construction issue resolution.
The role is part of the Project Management function and supports projects from initiation through completion.
Mechanical Design and Review
- Review airside and waterside mechanical systems for hyperscale data centers, including layouts, CFD and noise modeling, climate evaluations, hydraulic analyses, pipe sizing, and bin hour analyses.
- Oversee A/E design consultants and peer review drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, calculations, and models.
- Review value engineering opportunities and analyze redundancies, failure modes, and single points of failure with RAM modelers.
- Create conceptual CAD or BIM sketches for internal visualization and spatial or dimensional validation.
Operations and Reliability
- Assist with or occasionally lead solutions for mechanical issues, outages, fleet-wide improvements, and operational campus needs.
- Evaluate post-mortem reports and 8D or root cause analyses and recommend improvements.
- Develop options that improve reliability and availability of critical operational infrastructure across the fleet.
- Analyze operational trend logs to assess equipment health, remaining useful life, and predictive failure models.
