Role overview

Turner & Townsend Heery is hiring an Associate Director of Project Management for its San Francisco and Northern California region.

The role combines business generation, client management, project delivery leadership, and business operations.

The position supports growth and profitability across the Western Region and California Cost Center 8140.

Workplace

  • The role is based in San Francisco, California.
  • On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs.

Business generation and clients

  • Lead bid teams and proposal generation efforts with business generation and senior management teams.
  • Develop winning marketing strategies, proposals, bids, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Engage industry professionals, identify cross-selling opportunities, and promote Turner & Townsend across the United States.
  • Manage client and business development databases and support localized marketing and account plans.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations and attend client interviews to present service offerings.

Project management and operations

  • Lead the project management team responsible for planning and executing projects in the Northern California region.
  • Manage the Northern California portfolio, including project management services, deliverables, resources, and collaborations.
  • Identify client service delivery needs and the resources required to provide value-added results.
  • Track margins, monthly fee and resource forecasts, budgets, financial reports, invoices, and accounts receivable.
  • Liaise with municipal authorities having jurisdiction over projects and fulfill applicable SOX control responsibilities.

People leadership

  • Source, recruit, interview, and manage new talent for service delivery.
  • Provide line management, coaching, and mentoring to assigned staff.
  • Provide weekly updates on projects, initiatives, staffing, and issues requiring attention.

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related construction field is required.
  • At least eight years of relevant project management experience in the construction A-E-C industry is required.
  • Business development experience in construction management consultancy and advisory industries is required.
  • Experience managing client accounts and teams of project managers and support staff is required.
  • Strong Northern California construction market knowledge and excellent communication, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills are required.

Preferred qualification

  • A graduate degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred.

Compensation

  • The full-time salary range is $165,000 to $185,000 per year.
  • The range represents base salary only and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
