Putaway Team Leader

About the Role

Safety and Compliance

• Verify that forklift and material handling equipment operators hold valid and current licenses.
• Enforce PPE requirements, warehouse safety standards, traffic rules, and safe pedestrian separation.
• Conduct daily pre-shift equipment checks and remove unsafe equipment from service.
• Ensure safe stacking, load stability, height limits, and rack capacity.
• Inspect racking, report damage, investigate and document incidents and near-misses, and stop unsafe practices.
• Maintain clean and obstruction-free aisles throughout the shift.

Putaway Operations

• Ensure received goods are entered into the system with accurate item, quantity, batch, expiry, and location information.
• Identify receiving errors and return discrepancies to the Receiving team before storage.
• Assign daily putaway tasks and balance workload according to inbound volume.
• Ensure goods move from dock to storage within the required target time and confirm accuracy in the WMS.
• Apply storage requirements based on product type, temperature zone, FEFO, weight, and product movement.
• Handle damaged goods and discrepancies according to the approved process.
• Coordinate with Receiving and Inventory teams and train or coach operators on safety and productivity.

Requirements

• Two to four years of warehouse operations experience, including at least one year in a team-leading role.
• Valid forklift or reach truck license with hands-on operating experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and material handling equipment operations.
• Hands-on WMS experience for putaway, locations, and stock movements.
• Strong attention to detail when identifying item, quantity, batch, or expiry discrepancies.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and peak seasons while maintaining full-time warehouse-floor presence.
• Basic English and Arabic communication skills.
