Procurement Engineer – Civil & MEP

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials and equipment.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Prepare and issue RFQs using project requirements, BOQs, drawings, and specifications.
• Compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, specifications, and delivery schedule.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
• Review BOQs, drawings, material specifications, and technical requirements before procurement.
• Coordinate with engineering, quantity surveying, project, and site teams.
• Process purchase orders and follow up on approvals.
• Monitor supplier performance, material quality, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate timely delivery of materials to the project site.
• Maintain supplier databases, quotation records, purchase orders, and procurement trackers.
• Resolve supplier delays, shortages, quality concerns, and replacement requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience in construction, contracting, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience with civil and/or MEP materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of construction materials, MEP equipment, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Hands-on experience with RFQs, quotation comparison, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and purchase orders.
• Ability to understand BOQs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
• Strong supplier sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
• Good analytical, organizational, and follow-up abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement or ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and meet project deadlines.
• UAE or GCC procurement experience and major project experience are advantageous.

Location and Work Type

• Full-time role based in Dubai, UAE, supporting procurement activities for major construction and infrastructure projects.
