Fit-Out Engineer – QS & Contracts

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
• Measure civil, architectural, MEP, joinery, ceiling, flooring, partition, painting, and other fit-out works.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
• Support subcontract negotiations, procurement, and commercial coordination.
• Monitor project costs, prepare reports, and evaluate variations, claims, and contractual entitlements.
• Review interim payments, verify completed works, and conduct site measurements.
• Maintain contract, claims, payment, risk, and correspondence records.
• Track retention, advance payments, bonds, warranties, insurance, deadlines, and notice periods.
• Coordinate with project, site, architecture, consultancy, procurement, finance, and legal teams.
• Support dispute resolution, final accounts, contract close-out, and project handover.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, commercial management, contract administration, or fit-out contracting.
• Strong interior fit-out or interior contracting experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, costing, variations, claims, interim payments, and final accounts.
• Understanding of subcontract agreements, work orders, purchase orders, scope of work, and contract administration.
• Ability to read architectural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Experience with quotation evaluation, commercial comparison, negotiation, and procurement.
• Knowledge of EOT, delay claims, variation or change orders, and contractual correspondence.
• FIDIC and UAE construction contract knowledge is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, ERP/QS software, and document-control systems.
• Large-scale project experience is advantageous.

Location and Work Type

• Full-time role based in Dubai, UAE.
• The role supports major fit-out and construction projects.
