- Source trucks at competitive rates from reliable providers
- Maintain long term relationships with transport companies by signing agreements and reviewing performance
- Maintain a pool of drivers and distribute jobs among them
- Closely monitor the operations team and distribute tasks effectively
- Analyze shipment details and inform sales team about required permissions and challenges
- Provide cost effective solutions to the sales team by suggesting alternative routes or border options
- Identify and onboard new transport companies, drivers, and brokers
- Lead, supervise, and develop operations staff to ensure high performance and adherence to KPIs
- Define department KPIs and conduct regular performance evaluations
- Develop and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with company policies
- Provide expert guidance on resolving operational challenges
- Maintain a profitable operations department by optimizing freight costs, routing efficiency, and resource utilization
Requirements
- Possess knowledge of all types of trucks and trailers
- Solid understanding of cross border transportation
- Must have 6 years experience working as a Land Operations Manager
- Capable of handling normal and out of gauge cargo, including special handling requirements
- Ability to source trucks at competitive rates from reliable providers
- Experience in maintaining long term relationships with transport companies
