Role Overview
The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures cleanliness and orderliness across guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
The role oversees the housekeeping team, implements cleaning schedules, maintains standards, and supports guest satisfaction and hotel operational excellence.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Organise and assign daily tasks to Housekeeping Attendants on guest floors.
- Provide attendants with keys, supplies, and other resources for daily tasks.
- Handle guest requests and complaints and ensure effective resolution.
- Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness and compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Monitor room status and communicate with the Front Office Department.
- Report damaged items and broken equipment to the Engineering Department.
- Follow established lost and found procedures.
- Order housekeeping supplies and manage inventory to maintain sufficient stock.
- Evaluate attendant performance, provide feedback, and report issues to housekeeping management.
- Train Room Attendants on Standards of Performance procedures.
- Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards and organisational policies.
Requirements
- Ability to organise and assign daily tasks to Housekeeping Attendants.
- Ability to handle guest requests and complaints effectively and courteously.
- Ability to inspect guest rooms against hotel quality assurance standards.
- Ability to coordinate room status with the Front Office Department.
- Ability to manage housekeeping supplies and inventory procedures.
- Ability to evaluate attendant performance and provide feedback.
- Ability to train Room Attendants on Standards of Performance procedures.
- Ability to follow environmental, health, and safety standards and organisational policies.
