Role Overview
AW Connect is seeking an experienced General Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and month-end and year-end reporting.
The role is suited to an accounting professional with strong French accounting standards experience, analytical skills, and prior Big 4 experience.
Accounting Operations
- Manage journal entries and General Ledger maintenance.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and capital expenditure documentation.
Close, Reporting, and Compliance
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare financial reports and support management reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Support VAT preparation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
- Assist external auditors and provide required documentation.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Process and Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen financial controls.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Candidate Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Have mandatory French accounting experience and previous Big 4 experience.
- Be fluent in written and spoken French and English.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Have strong accounting principles, financial reporting, and advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- ERP or accounting-system experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate analytical, organisational, problem-solving, accuracy, collaboration, and time-management skills.
