About the Role
Abbott seeks an EMEA Business Development Manager to orchestrate portfolio strategies for the ID Rapid Diagnostics business unit. Responsibilities
- Develop and adapt portfolio strategies and positioning, build brand plans, and assure successful roll out and local strategy alignment
- Manage third party manufacturers’ portfolios throughout the lifecycle
- Act as business liaison partner for Third Party Manufacturers, including business planning and pipeline development
- Convey and represent portfolio strategies and tactics, optimize portfolio mix for EMEA region
- Collaborate with commercial, medical, market access, customer service, finance, and logistics teams
- Develop and tailor marketing communication assets and narrative for sales and marketing campaigns
- Build geo and product expansion strategies and execution plans for third party manufacturer business
- Partner with regional training teams to develop training content and track training success
- Monitor market and competition, conduct market analyses, and transform into strategies and tactics
- Lead pricing negotiations with Third Party Manufacturers
Requirements
- BA/BS in Marketing, Business, or Biological Science or related field
- At least 5+ years industry experience with ideally 3+ years in in vitro diagnostics marketing and business development
- Familiarity with Infectious Diseases and Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR) diagnostic landscape
- Proven successful track record in Marketing and Business Development roles
- Proficiency in English; additional languages (German & French) are a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (nationally and internationally)

What You'll Do
- Develop and adapt portfolio strategies and positioning, build brand plans and assure successful roll out and local strategy alignment.
- Manage the third party manufacturers’ portfolios throughout the lifecycle.
- Act as business liaison partner for Third Party Manufacturers, including business planning, third pipeline development, and expansion of geography and portfolio.
- Convey and represent portfolio strategies and tactics, optimize portfolio mix for EMEA region, and closely collaborate with Regional Marketing Managers.
- Actively improve portfolio reasons to believe and integrate into positioning and tools.
- Work in cross functional collaboration with commercial, commercial excellence, medical, market access, customer service, finance, and logistics teams.
- Work with internal and external agencies to transform Portfolio value propositions into customer focused messaging and tools.
- Build geo and product expansion strategies and execution plans for third party manufacturer business.
- Partner with regional training teams, co develop training content, facilitate and track training success.
- Continuously monitor the market and competition, conduct market analyses and transform into strategies and tactics.
- Track business metrics and actively propose actions to maximize the impact of the portfolio.
- Lead pricing negotiations with Third Party Manufacturers.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Marketing, Business, and/or Biological Science or related field required, higher degree strongly preferred.
- At least 5+ years industry experience with ideally 3+ years of experience in in vitro diagnostics marketing and business development functions.
- Familiarity with Infectious Diseases as well as Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR), diagnostic landscape, Molecular and Lateral Flow test technology knowledge strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Women’s Health Diagnostic Industry is a plus.
- Proven successful track record in Marketing and Business Development roles.
- Proven ability of delivering goals in a fast paced, matrixed organization.
- Proficiency in English, additional languages (German & French) are considered a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal , negotiation and influencing skills.
- Problem solving attitude; creative, flexible, change embracing.
- Cultural awareness and cross country sensitivity.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate & collaborate with all key stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (nationally and internationally).
