Role Overview

The role is a Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer supporting commissioning for a 200MW data center project.

The position verifies that electrical distribution and power systems meet design intent, code requirements, and the Owner's Project Requirements.

Commissioning Responsibilities

  • Support commissioning of switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, busway, and PDUs.
  • Assist with test scripts and execution for FAT, SAT, and IST activities.
  • Review electrical single-line diagrams, protective relay settings, and coordination studies.
  • Track commissioning issues, deficiencies, and punch-list items through closeout.

Testing and Documentation

  • Support load bank testing, UPS battery testing, and generator load testing.
  • Verify installation and startup activities align with manufacturer requirements and project specifications.
  • Maintain commissioning documentation, checklists, and test records.
  • Coordinate testing with electrical contractors, vendors, and design engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • The role requires 1–3 years of experience in electrical commissioning, MEP construction, or critical power systems.
  • Understanding of medium- and low-voltage distribution, standby power systems, and UPS topologies is required.
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards and safety practices such as NFPA 70E and arc flash awareness is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tier III/IV data centers or equivalent N+1 and 2N redundancy topologies is preferred.
  • Exposure to protective relay testing or power quality analysis is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCP or NETA, or progress toward chartership, are preferred.
