Job Description
The Chief Accountant role supports accounting operations, audit reviews, reconciliations, treasury monitoring, contract review, and financial closing activities.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Participate in preparing operational plans, policies, and work procedures.
- Review audit procedures and accounting entries transferred from other Finance Department sections.
- Audit adjustments received from other sections based on written approval.
- Reconcile bank statements and accounting ledgers for revenues and payments.
- Execute monthly and annual closing procedures for general ledger and payment accounts.
- Review financial aspects of contracts, including data, terms, and delay penalties.
- Audit treasury cash reports and bank statements daily.
- Monitor revenues, cash deposits, cheques, and revenue-account closing procedures.
- Perform other duties related to the section as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Higher Diploma in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
- A Master's degree requires 3 years of accounting or equivalent experience.
- A Bachelor's degree requires 5 years of accounting or equivalent experience.
- A Diploma requires 11 years of accounting or equivalent experience.
