Role Overview
The Chief Accountant oversees daily hotel financial operations, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
The role ensures compliance with hospitality accounting standards, manages the accounting team, and assists the Controller.
General Ledger and Reporting
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial statements in compliance with USALI.
Accounts and Cash Flow
- Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and General Cashiering.
- Optimize working capital and daily cash flow.
Taxation and Compliance
- Prepare local VAT, sales tax, corporate tax, and payroll tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with regional financial regulations and statutory audits.
Controls, Auditing, and Leadership
- Enforce internal financial controls and monitor hotel revenue capture.
- Verify daily income audits and flag budget variances.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, review payroll processing, and coordinate with operational department heads.
Requirements
- Knowledge of hotel financial operations and hospitality accounting standards, including USALI.
- Ability to lead and mentor accounting staff.
- Knowledge of local tax filings and regional financial regulations.
