Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives for Platforms, Systems, and Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions, prioritizing efforts to maximize team productivity and profitability.
  • Proactively evaluate and scope technical solutions to address customer requirements, identify gaps, and recommend solutions that deliver optimal value to both the customer and the organization.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders within customer environments to gather requirements and adapt solutions to ensure alignment and support.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales, presales, and service delivery teams to align solution designs with customer business needs.
  • Achieve assigned targets for profitable sales growth across designated product lines, markets, channels, or supported teams.
  • Provide coaching and professional development to sales associates to enhance product expertise, technical knowledge, and consultative selling capabilities.
  • Support the sales team during negotiations and contract closure activities to improve deal conversion.
  • Assist sales teams with proposal development, pitch preparation, customer presentations, and RFP responses.
  • Lead the development of customized presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutions to articulate customer use cases and business value across industries.
  • Prepare quotations and sales proposals on behalf of the sales team.
  • Support Account Managers or Sales Consultants throughout the complete sales cycle, from RFI/RFP stages through contract negotiation and deal closure.
  • Identify functional gaps during scoping discussions, analyze requirements, and coordinate with technical or vendor teams to develop viable solutions.
  • Assist with additional deal-closing activities including pricing customization, contract and SOW drafting, security questionnaires, and demo environment customization.
  • Work with management on sales planning, forecasting, and the development of short- and long-term business growth strategies.
  • Partner closely with architects and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions and services fully meet customer business and technology requirements.
  • Manage overall solution costing, prepare cost sheets, obtain approvals through project costing systems, and oversee cost allocation, order processing, and delivery tracking.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of sales engineering experience within large enterprise or strategic B2B customer environments.
  • Demonstrated success and strong technical solution expertise in a similar presales or sales engineering role.
  • Relevant product certifications, engineering credentials, or equivalent technical qualifications, including:
  • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization
  • VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility
  • VMware Specialist – vSAN
  • Dell EMC Sales & SE – Hyper-Converged Infrastructure & Server Curriculum

• Lenovo Data Center Technical Sales Certification

  • Red Hat Sales Engineer Specialist – Platform
