Role Overview
ALM Data Systems is hiring a Venue Technology Manager in Qatar on a contract or managed-services basis.
The role leads IT, telecommunications, broadcast technology, and technology operations across large-scale venues and events.
The manager oversees technology delivery throughout preparation, live operations, and post-event phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT, telecommunications, and broadcast technology services across assigned venues.
- Implement technology services and infrastructure according to standards and requirements.
- Coordinate connectivity and service delivery against agreed SLAs.
- Assess technology needs and plan end-user equipment and service delivery.
- Monitor venue construction, infrastructure implementation, and IT readiness.
- Coordinate commissioning and decommissioning of venue technology infrastructure.
- Maintain the IT master delivery plan and lead venue IT teams throughout the event lifecycle.
- Conduct operational briefings, maintain communication with the command center, and act as the venue IT escalation point.
- Monitor service performance, maintain coverage, and coordinate actions to manage operational risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least eight years of experience in IT operations.
- At least three years of experience managing venue technology, large-scale events, or similar complex technology environments.
- Proven experience leading IT teams and managing technology operations.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, telecommunications, connectivity, and venue technology.
- Experience managing vendors, service providers, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of SLA management and service delivery.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make timely operational decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in Qatar or the GCC region.
- Experience with major sporting events, exhibitions, conferences, festivals, or other large-scale events.
- Experience working with an IT command center or operations center.
- Experience with venue commissioning and decommissioning.
- Knowledge of IT service management or ITIL practices.
- Strong stakeholder and government-entity coordination experience.

- The work location is Qatar.
- The role is performed in person.
