Storage & Backup Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Storage & Backup Specialist to design, implement, manage, and optimize enterprise storage and data protection environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAN/NAS, enterprise storage platforms, backup and recovery solutions, disaster recovery, replication, storage networking, automation, and data protection.

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage and backup infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Manage and support SAN/NAS storage platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, or Pure Storage.
• Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions including Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Azure Backup, or similar technologies.
• Configure and manage FC/iSCSI, SAN zoning, LUN provisioning, and storage connectivity.
• Develop and maintain data protection, backup, retention, recovery, and archival strategies.
• Manage storage replication, snapshots, and cross-site disaster recovery solutions.
• Perform storage capacity planning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Implement backup automation, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting to meet SLA requirements.
• Automate storage and backup operations using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Plan and execute storage and backup upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.
• Conduct regular disaster recovery tests and drills and ensure business continuity readiness.
• Monitor storage and backup environments using tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, or vendor-specific monitoring tools.
• Ensure data protection environments follow security and compliance requirements, including encryption and access controls.
• Coordinate with cloud, infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, configurations, recovery procedures, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Evaluate new storage, backup, and data protection technologies and recommend improvements and cost optimizations.
• Lead complex multi-site storage and backup projects when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of overall IT experience, including at least 4–5 years specializing in enterprise storage and backup.
• Proven experience designing and managing hybrid on-premises and cloud storage environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage and backup technologies.
• Experience with SAN/NAS, FC/iSCSI, zoning, and LUN provisioning.
• Experience with disaster recovery, replication, backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex multi-site projects.

Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are preferred:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) / Azure Storage certification
• AWS Certified Storage Specialty / Solutions Architect – Associate

• ITIL Foundation

• Strong experience with Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, or Pure Storage.
• Experience with Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, or Azure Backup.
• Experience with storage replication, snapshots, and cross-site DR.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible automation.
• Knowledge of data lifecycle management, retention, and archival.
• Experience with encryption, key management, and data security.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, GDPR, or similar compliance requirements.
• Experience with SolarWinds, Zabbix, or vendor-native monitoring tools.
• Experience leading storage/backup migrations, upgrades, and refresh projects.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multi-site technical activities.
