Role Overview

The Audio Visual / ELV Manager leads the design, implementation, integration, testing, and operation of AV, CATV, IPTV, and broadcast technology systems for large-scale events.

The role provides technical leadership, manages vendors and stakeholders, oversees installations, and ensures reliable and safe system operation.

Location and Employment

  • The role is based in Qatar.
  • The employment type is Contract / Managed Services.
  • The work location is in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of CATV, IPTV, AV, and broadcast technology systems.
  • Provide technical leadership through planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and operations.
  • Coordinate internal teams, vendors, contractors, and external technology partners.
  • Conduct site surveys and review concept designs, drawings, and system specifications.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of AV, IPTV, CATV, and broadcast systems.
  • Review vendor proposals, scopes of work, and contracts for compliance.
  • Manage broadcast encoding, decoding, monitoring, and RF/IP modulation.
  • Oversee CATV distribution, structured cabling, and temporary AV installations.
  • Support press conferences, interpretation facilities, media centers, and other event areas.
  • Integrate AV/ELV systems with BMS, Access Control, Data Center infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Support IP-based broadcast switching and multicast video distribution.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, maintain records, and ensure operational readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Media Technology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 12 years of engineering experience with hands-on CATV, IPTV, AV, and broadcast systems expertise is required.
  • Experience supporting mega-events or large-scale events with advanced AV and broadcast solutions is required.
  • Strong technical integration and project leadership experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of AV, IPTV, CATV, broadcast, RF, and IP-based video distribution technologies is required.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and technical teams is required.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Understanding of system safety, redundancy, reliability, and operational requirements is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure during live events and critical operational periods is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with international sporting events, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, or other mega-events is preferred.
  • Experience working in Qatar or the GCC region is preferred.
  • Experience with temporary event AV infrastructure and broadcast systems is preferred.
  • Experience integrating AV/ELV systems with BMS, Access Control, and Data Center environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IP multicast, broadcast switching, encoding/decoding, and RF distribution is preferred.
  • Experience with system commissioning, testing, and operational readiness is preferred.
