Role Overview

Join NTT DATA as a Test Engineer in Hyderabad, India.

The role focuses on data validation, migration testing, data platform modernization, and quality assurance.

Testing Responsibilities

  • Compare source outputs from Yellowbricks and Informatica with target outputs from Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt.
  • Perform row-count, aggregate, sample, cell-level, and schema consistency validations.
  • Validate CDC and incremental loads, functional business rules, regression waves, and integration across data layers.
  • Validate downstream reports, extracts, and interfaces and assist with basic performance testing.
  • Monitor pipeline runs for failures, retries, and data-volume anomalies.
  • Execute test cases, maintain traceability, log defects with evidence, retest fixes, and support regression runs.
  • Maintain test case repositories, test data sets, and execution logs for audit and reuse.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and defect triage with onshore and offshore teams.

Minimum Skills and Experience

  • 2–4 years of software testing or QA experience, including at least 2 years in data warehouse or ETL testing.
  • Data migration or data platform modernization experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills for complex queries and validation.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data warehouse or big-data platform.
  • Exposure to Informatica and dbt-based validations.
  • Understanding of facts, dimensions, SCDs, aggregations, grain, and source-to-target mapping.
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools and experience using Excel or similar tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, structured validation, discrepancy analysis, and developer collaboration.

Technical Environment

  • Source technologies include Yellowbricks and Informatica.
  • Target technologies include Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt.
  • Defect and test tools may include Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail, and qTest.

Location and Work Arrangements

  • The position is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
  • NTT DATA states that remote or hybrid arrangements may be available for some positions and may change based on client requirements.
  • Office or client-site attendance may be required for employees near those locations.
