Role overview

Lead enterprise-scale low-code architecture, governance, development oversight, and delivery using OutSystems 11 and OutSystems Developer Cloud.

Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable, and reusable applications.

The role is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Architecture and delivery

  • Own architecture for enterprise web, mobile, workflow, integration, and ODC applications.
  • Lead technical design workshops and provide oversight across concurrent application initiatives.
  • Conduct code and design reviews and guide teams through testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
  • Coordinate discovery, Agile delivery, releases, stakeholder presentations, risks, dependencies, and technical issues.

CoE governance

  • Establish OutSystems Center of Excellence governance, project intake, architecture reviews, development standards, templates, playbooks, and deployment governance.
  • Drive platform adoption and standardization across distributed teams and train developers, business users, and cross-vendor teams.

Workflow and integrations

  • Architect configurable approval workflows with escalation, recall, audit, notification, monitoring, and exception-handling capabilities.
  • Design integrations with REST and SOAP APIs, Microsoft Graph, Salesforce, AWS, Databricks, Power BI, SQL Server, ERP systems, SharePoint, payment gateways, and identity providers.
  • Design API security, error handling, retries, high-volume integrations, batch jobs, and asynchronous processing.

Security and data

  • Architect SSO, OIDC, SCIM, identity-provider, role-based access, and persona-based authorization models.
  • Design batch processing, scheduled jobs, bulk uploads, data migrations, dashboards, reporting, and downstream data handoffs.
  • Optimize application architecture for large data volumes and performance.

DevOps and AI

  • Define CI/CD, release-management, deployment-tracking, and environment-management practices using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Identify and evaluate Agentic AI and intelligent workflow automation opportunities while maintaining security and governance.

Required technical skills

  • At least 7 years of hands-on OutSystems experience and at least 12 years of overall experience are specified.
  • Experience with OutSystems 11, ODC, Service Studio, Integration Studio, ODC Studio, and OutSystems Lifetime.
  • Experience with low-code architecture, CoE governance, reusable assets, workflows, integrations, security, CI/CD, batch processing, JavaScript, SQL, and Agile delivery.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Life Sciences, BioPharma, Manufacturing, regulated environments, legacy modernization, ERP integration, or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Experience with payment gateways, Mendix or other low-code platforms, Agentic AI, and enterprise governance.
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management experience, including onsite stakeholder engagement.
  • Relevant OutSystems, Mendix, or equivalent low-code certifications.
