ACWA Operations
ACWA Operations is the operations and maintenance arm of ACWA, supporting power generation and water desalination assets across their lifecycle.
The Marafiq Red Sea Project includes solar photovoltaic generation, battery energy storage, seawater desalination, sewage treatment, district cooling, and waste management infrastructure.
Job Purpose
Provide engineering support and technical consultancy to power and water producing facilities.
Resolve operational difficulties, evaluate material performance, review plant and equipment designs, support project development, improve plant performance, reduce O&M costs, and extend facility life.
Role and Responsibilities
- Verify basic data, design specifications, and system standards for major plant equipment installed or planned by EPC contractors.
- Help define scopes of work, functional requirements, and equipment specifications for outsourced system or equipment modifications.
- Assist plant management with contractor queries and clarifications concerning technical specifications.
- Support plant O&M crews in analyzing critical system upsets and operating problems.
- Perform Residual Life Assessment studies and recommend corrective actions to extend equipment life.
- Optimize conventional thermal and membrane desalination and pretreatment processes.
- Identify root causes of corrosion, scaling, and other process-related problems.
- Assess environmental impacts of power and desalination plant discharges on marine habitats.
- Evaluate materials, treatment chemicals, and equipment for desalination and power applications.
- Conduct failure case studies, event investigations, and troubleshooting studies.
- Monitor feedwater and product water quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Work Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in the power generation, renewable energy, and water desalination sector.
