Company and Project
ACWA Operations manages power generation and water desalination assets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
The Bisha Solar PV Project is a planned 3,000 MW solar PV plant in Bisha, Asir Province, Saudi Arabia.
The project operates under an IPP model with a 25-year power purchase agreement, with completion scheduled for December 2027.
Job Purpose
Provide overall direction to plant teams and lead plant activities for safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Ensure optimum resource utilization, uninterrupted power or water supply, compliance with standards, and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
Reporting Line
The role reports to the VP Cluster Head of Assets for the South Region and the Country Manager.
Strategy and Planning
- Develop the plant strategy in alignment with the wider operations and maintenance strategy.
- Report operational and maintenance activities, challenges, issues, and mitigations to senior management.
- Prepare board presentations covering financial, warranty, operational, and manpower matters.
People Management
- Manage direct and indirect report performance, workforce requirements, and recruitment with Human Resources.
- Set objectives, develop teams, provide feedback, and support engagement and motivation.
- Lead talent development initiatives through mentoring, coaching, and development opportunities.
Financial Management
- Develop and monitor the plant operating budget and financial performance.
- Manage project financial metrics, costs, contractual obligations, revenue, profitability, and productivity targets.
Production and Plant Operations
- Translate operational strategy into production plans and monitor performance against targets.
- Direct operations and maintenance teams to meet production objectives and resolve technical issues.
- Plan plant changes while maintaining a safe working environment and plant efficiency.
- Oversee root cause analysis and investigations to address abnormal conditions and performance deficiencies.
Role Scope
- The role requires leadership across plant operations, maintenance, production planning, financial management, contractual compliance, and people management.
- The position supports a large-scale solar PV project delivering power under defined project and contractual requirements.
