Reporting and Job Purpose

Strategy, Budget, and Planning

• Develop the operations departmental strategy in alignment with the plant strategy.
• Report operational activities, challenges, issues, and mitigations to senior management.
• Contribute to the operations budget and monitor financial performance and budget variances.
• Develop production plans and lead monthly and daily scheduling of plant shift operations.

Operations Management

• Lead power generation and water production operations while maintaining safety and quality.
• Resolve escalated operational issues and review daily operations reports.
• Lead operational management meetings and communicate production standards and operating programs.
• Review equipment and operating performance and recommend reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure regular safety protective-device testing on critical equipment in line with international safety standards.

Maintenance and Outage Support

• Coordinate planned preventive and corrective maintenance programs with the Maintenance department.
• Support safe execution of planned outages, shutdowns, and equipment restarts.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety, scope, cost, and timeline objectives are met during outage activities.

Plant Chemistry and Laboratory

• Oversee production parameters and adjust operating conditions to support quality and efficiency.
• Oversee laboratory activities and ensure testing follows regulatory requirements, procedures, schedules, and budget.

Requirements

• Ability to manage plant operating functions and chemical plant operations and maintenance in line with contractual, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Ability to develop production plans and lead monthly and daily scheduling of plant shift operations.
• Knowledge of power generation and water production operations with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve escalated or critical operational issues.
• Ability to coordinate planned preventive and corrective maintenance and support major plant outages.
• Knowledge of equipment reliability, operating performance, and technical improvement practices.
• Ability to ensure critical equipment safety-protective-device testing and compliance with international safety standards.
• Ability to oversee plant chemistry, production parameters, and laboratory activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
