Role summary
Join NTT DATA as a Systems Administration Senior Associate focused on network security in Bangalore.
The G5 Network Operations Engineer role provides foundational hands-on expertise at intermediate L1 or junior L2 level.
The engineer resolves moderately complex issues and helps stabilize incidents before escalation.
Key responsibilities
- Perform deeper L1 troubleshooting for interface utilization, errors, routing, VPN tunnels, and firewall rules.
- Own incident tickets until resolution or justified escalation.
- Work with ISPs to troubleshoot WAN link CRC errors, flaps, and latency.
- Assist with standard changes such as port configuration and VLAN assignment under guidance.
- Support planned maintenance with device checks and pre- and post-validation.
- Mentor G4 engineers, review ticket quality, and maintain network documentation and runbooks.
Skills and qualifications
- One to two years of NOC or network operations experience is required.
- Good understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, WLAN basics, and VPN concepts is required.
- Ability to interpret logs, interface counters, and monitoring metrics is required.
