Role Overview

Compensation

• Compensation range is $170K–$190K annually.

Location and Work Arrangement

• The description lists Arlington, Virginia, and New York, New York.
• The role is hybrid.

Core Responsibilities

• Own ambiguous, high-stakes problems from loosely defined questions through structured answers and delivered results.
• Coordinate operations, commercial, and product teams on cross-functional projects and remove blockers.
• Build unit economics models, business cases, operational analyses, and data-backed recommendations.
• Shift across recruiting, operational bottlenecks, commercial pilots, and other priorities as business needs change.
• Convert successful one-off projects into repeatable processes with playbooks, tooling, and metrics.

Example Projects

• Model the economics of entering a new region and run a pilot to validate the opportunity.
• Diagnose installation delays and design fixes across logistics and field teams.
• Build a business case and pitch for a large shipping-company customer and support the engagement through closing.
• Build cost-per-unit-of-coverage models and analysis for board or fundraising updates.

What the Employer Is Looking For

• 2 to 4 years at a top-tier management consulting firm, such as MBB or equivalent, with a record of top performance.
• Ability to independently build clean financial models and credible quantitative or operational analyses.
• Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, rapid execution, and measuring success by outcomes delivered.
• Ability to work effectively across sales, operations, and growth while earning trust from specialists.
• Strong communication skills with founders, cross-functional teams, and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup experience at a high-growth or scaling company is preferred.
• Exposure to maritime, logistics, hardware, supply chain, or another complex physical-world business is preferred.
• Hands-on SQL, Python, spreadsheet, or business intelligence skills are preferred.
• Early-stage startup or founding-team experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel 50% is preferred.
