Role Overview
The Stewarding & Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for kitchen stewarding, restaurant cleaning, sanitation, equipment care, waste handling, and staff training.
The work location is in person.
Stewarding and Kitchen Support
- Supervise kitchen stewards and assist chefs and kitchen staff with operational tasks.
- Ensure stewards have the supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms needed to perform their work.
- Assist dishwashers, line cooks, and servers when necessary.
Cleaning and Sanitation
- Keep the kitchen clean, well maintained, organized, and compliant with sanitation requirements.
- Clean and sanitize floors, walls, workstations, dishes, service ware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Carry out sweeping, mopping, washing, rubbish removal, and correct placement of waste containers.
- Clean the waste bin area and maintain dishwashing and kitchen areas to required standards.
Waste and Equipment Control
- Collect and remove restaurant waste and dispose of it according to restaurant and authority standards and recycling guidelines.
- Check chemical levels and inventory and report broken equipment, maintenance issues, and hazards to management.
- Remove broken or chipped items from circulation and update the manager.
- Use and maintain equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines.
Training and Safety
- Attend basic food hygiene and work safety training programs.
- Train new and existing staff and managers.
- Follow sanitation, food hygiene, recycling, and workplace safety procedures.
