Role Overview
The Staff Software Engineer anchors backend engineering for the CERius platform.
The position serves as a technical authority for high-scale, resilient backend systems in an AWS cloud-native environment.
The role defines technical strategy and ensures architecture remains scalable, secure, and robust.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the CERius backend architecture and drive long-term technical roadmaps.
- Set standards for clean, maintainable, modular code and resolve complex architectural issues.
- Architect AWS deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless paradigms.
- Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and promote test-driven development and operational rigor.
- Collaborate with product management, data scientists, and frontend leads.
- Lead architecture reviews and establish backend engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional backend development experience.
- At least three years in a Staff or Lead capacity.
- Experience architecting systems that scale to significant user or data volumes.
