The Site Reliability Engineer will work within the Platform Software Team on infrastructure supporting manufacturing and platform diagnostics.
The environment supports validation of high-speed digital designs and manufacturing operations for Arista networking products.
The role collaborates with infrastructure and tools engineers across engineering groups.
Core responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and operate production systems for scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security.
- Monitor services, improve deployment experience, automate operational work, and enhance alert handling.
- Create incident response runbooks, stage new system deployments, and support infrastructure triage.
- Write postmortems, plan maintenance windows, and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks affecting engineering workflows.
- Implement scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance solutions that improve system availability.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 5 years of experience, a master's degree plus 5 years, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Knowledge of Go, Python, or Bash is required for implementing medium-complexity automation workflows.
- Linux or UNIX administration and debugging experience is required.
- Hands-on Kubernetes on bare-metal, Ansible, Docker, virtualization, air-gapped systems, and infrastructure-as-code experience is required.
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills are required.
Desirable qualifications
- Database management, monitoring stack management, artifact repositories, container registries, or CI/CD systems experience is desirable.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform is desirable.
