Senior Software Engineer, Quality Engineering

Role Overview

Accountabilities

• Evaluate AI-generated and human-written production code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Design and build automated testing, regression, and AI evaluation infrastructure.
• Integrate quality workflows for testing, code-review triage, deployment validation, and release management into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish release criteria, coverage expectations, quality signals, and engineering guardrails.
• Build and ship full-stack features and services from development through production.
• Use Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or comparable AI coding agents in multi-step development workflows.
• Build observability, monitoring, alerting, and guardrail dashboards tied to end-user impact.
• Partner with Risk and Security teams on sensitive member information, privacy, and security requirements.
• Share AI-assisted development and quality engineering practices with engineers across the organization.

Requirements

• Have 4 or more years of full-stack software development experience; 6 or more years is expected for senior-level candidates.
• Demonstrate depth in software quality engineering, test strategy, automation frameworks, regression testing, and CI-gated quality controls.
• Own test infrastructure, tooling, and automated validation rather than relying solely on manual processes.
• Have professional experience using AI coding agents and evaluating their limitations and failure modes.
• Be proficient in one or more of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET and have modern frontend framework experience.
• Have experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using listed or comparable frameworks.
• Have experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Have working knowledge of containerization and CI/CD practices, including listed or equivalent technologies.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying defects and evaluating AI-generated output.
• Be able to work as an independent contributor and own complex engineering problems.
• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol, prompt engineering, or AI evaluation frameworks is a plus.
• A Computer Science or related degree is valued but not required.
