Role overview
The partner company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the MediaWiki Content Platform Team in the United States.
The team evolves wikitext infrastructure and content experiences used by hundreds of millions of people across hundreds of languages.
The role combines complex software engineering with performance, usability, reliability, and maintainability improvements.
Accountabilities
- Design and deliver large-scale wikitext processing infrastructure improvements.
- Own complex projects from problem definition and architecture through implementation, testing, and production delivery.
- Develop and maintain PHP and JavaScript software and reliable internet-facing APIs.
- Improve scalability and responsiveness through caching, persistence, and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to testing, code reviews, security, documentation, maintainability, and engineering quality.
- Mentor engineers and communicate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs.
Required experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional software engineering experience delivering production software at meaningful scale.
