Position Overview
The partner company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Go for its Platform Engineering team.
The team improves developer experience across a global technology environment.
The role is remote-first and open to candidates residing in Australia or New Zealand.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintain Go-based APIs, microservices, and CLI applications for internal developer tooling.
- Design automation across systems of record, SaaS platforms, internal infrastructure, and engineering services.
- Implement governance-as-code for repository and service governance.
- Enable secure self-service infrastructure management for engineering teams.
- Operate Kubernetes and EKS services, including performance profiling, debugging, tuning, and reliability work.
- Collaborate across teams to identify developer bottlenecks and deliver platform solutions.
- Improve the developer lifecycle through automation, self-service capabilities, and platform design.
Required Experience
- Proven professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer using Go in production.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with scalable web services, RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience developing or operating services on Kubernetes.
- Strong API design knowledge, including authentication and authorization.
- Hands-on database management, schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning experience.
- Experience managing AWS infrastructure and working with Kubernetes/EKS.
- Solid knowledge of Git, version control, and continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Experience with profiling and debugging tools for performance optimization.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience building internal developer tools, automation solutions, or CLI applications is highly relevant.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are expected.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed across teams and time zones.
- Interest in Platform as a Product and solving developer pain points through scalable tooling is valued.
