Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

Role overview

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and own accessible, performant, production-ready user-facing features using React and TypeScript.
• Set frontend engineering standards through code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical guidance.
• Mentor engineers and improve team capabilities, engineering practices, and quality standards.
• Use AI and agentic development tools to accelerate delivery and establish development best practices.
• Develop Go backend services and APIs when needed to support frontend experiences.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders from initial concept through production delivery.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, engineering roadmaps, and technical strategy.
• Create technical documentation and improve production performance, usability, accessibility, reliability, and scalability.

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep frontend specialization.
• Expert React and TypeScript skills with strong knowledge of UX, accessibility, performance, and scalable frontend architecture.
• Experience using AI and agentic coding tools such as Claude.
• Technical leadership experience involving standards, mentoring, code reviews, and significant technical decisions.
• Experience delivering high-quality production frontend applications at scale.
• Working knowledge of Go or the ability to become productive with Go quickly.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and make sound customer-focused decisions.
• Excellent English communication skills for discussions and documentation.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in fintech, fraud prevention, compliance, risk management, or another regulated environment is preferred.
• Exposure to data tooling or data pipelines is a plus.
• Familiarity with Node.js, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Bigtable, Python, Java, or Terraform is advantageous.

Compensation and equity

• Compensation is listed as CA$160,000–CA$210,000 plus equity opportunities.
