Role Overview
Seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build the shared technology foundation used by engineering teams to develop, integrate and operate modern applications.
The hands-on role spans platform architecture, backend services, developer tooling, APIs, cloud infrastructure and AI-enabled systems.
The engineer will establish reusable patterns, interfaces and standards for production engineering platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build shared platform services, APIs, SDKs and engineering tooling.
- Develop orchestration capabilities for applications involving multiple services, tools, models and workflows.
- Integrate AI models and supporting services into reusable platform capabilities.
- Develop secure identity-aware services with authentication and authorization.
- Create reusable templates, libraries, examples and automation for application development.
- Establish standards for API design, service contracts, versioning, testing and observability.
- Build tracing, monitoring and operational controls into platform services.
- Work with infrastructure and application teams to improve scalability, reliability and security.
- Review code, document technical decisions and establish engineering standards.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software, backend, platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Production experience building and operating internal platforms, shared services or developer tooling.
- Strong hands-on experience with AI-enabled applications, agent systems or comparable technologies.
- Strong Python and Go development skills; Java or Node.js experience is advantageous.
- Experience with APIs, SDKs, workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing and multi-step service interactions.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, reliability, security and scalability.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, OIDC/SSO, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.
- A strong focus on developer experience, usability and adoption.
AI and Application Platforms
- Relevant experience may include agent orchestration, workflow systems, tool calling and integrations between AI services and business applications.
- Experience may include model gateways, provider integrations, retrieval and data-access capabilities, evaluation, tracing and guardrails.
- Relevant frameworks include LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google ADK or comparable technologies.
Technical Environment
Python, Go, Java or Node.js, APIs, SDKs, AI and agent systems, workflow orchestration, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
AWS, Terraform or Crossplane, OIDC/SSO, authentication, authorization, observability and developer tooling.
