Senior Gen AI Engineer (Freelancer)

Role overview

Accountabilities

• Design and implement scalable AI and Generative AI solutions aligned with business and product requirements.
• Build and productionize LLM-powered applications, intelligent automation systems, and AI-driven workflows.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into practical AI architectures, prototypes, and production implementations.
• Develop, test, deploy, and optimize AI models and applications across cloud and enterprise environments.
• Integrate foundation models and LLM APIs while balancing performance, reliability, security, and cost.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and troubleshoot systems to improve quality, accuracy, latency, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop reusable APIs, components, tools, and frameworks for AI application development and deployment.
• Establish evaluation, testing, monitoring, observability, and quality practices for AI and LLM systems.

Requirements

• 5–13 years of professional experience in software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technical disciplines.
• Hands-on experience developing AI and Generative AI applications from prototype to production.
• Understanding of LLMs, foundation models, prompt engineering, model APIs, and AI application architecture.
• Strong software engineering and programming fundamentals for scalable, reliable, maintainable systems.
• Forward Deployment Engineering experience engaging directly with users or customers.
• Ability to investigate complex technical problems and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
• LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks, agentic AI, RAG, vector databases, embeddings, monitoring, cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD are preferred or advantageous.

Compensation

• Compensation is ₹10,00,000–₹65,00,000 per year, depending on experience, expertise, and engagement terms.

Engagement and work arrangement

• The opportunity is freelance or contract.
• The role is fully remote within India.
