Senior Data Scientist, Ads Integrity

Role overview

Accountabilities

• Lead ads fraud measurement and detection strategy, including taxonomies, labels, sampling methods, metrics, and evaluation frameworks.
• Analyze large-scale datasets and behavioral networks to identify fraud patterns, quantify impact, and uncover root causes.
• Design scalable detection and automated enforcement pipelines with Engineering and Machine Learning teams.
• Own backtesting, threshold calibration, evaluation, experimentation, monitoring, drift detection, incident response, rollback, and retirement.
• Develop and evaluate statistical, machine learning, and GenAI-enabled models or prototypes.
• Balance risk, customer experience, false positives, operational capacity, and business objectives in enforcement recommendations.
• Shape priorities, roadmaps, data foundations, policies, and enforcement capabilities across Ads and Safety functions.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to technical, non-technical, and senior leadership audiences.
• Mentor data scientists and analysts while contributing technical leadership to the ads integrity function.

Required qualifications

• A master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline plus 4 or more years of industry data science experience is required, or a relevant PhD plus 2 or more years of industry experience.
• Experience in Data Science, Applied Science, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
• Production experience with detection and automated enforcement systems is required.
• Strong knowledge of fraud and abuse detection methodologies is required.
• Experience translating analytical insights into reliable, scalable production systems is required.
• Experience applying AI and large language models to practical data science use cases is required.
• Strong understanding of behavioral networks and large-scale activity patterns is required.
• Advanced statistical analysis, Python or comparable programming, and SQL proficiency are required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills are required.
• The role requires autonomy and ownership of high-impact initiatives.

Valuable technical experience

• Experience with graph or network analysis, clustering, anomaly detection, or natural language processing is considered valuable.
• Relevant experience in ads fraud, financial fraud, account risk, Trust and Safety, platform integrity, or enforcement engineering is considered valuable.

Compensation

• The base salary range is $190,800 to $267,100 USD, depending on skills, experience, credentials, and location.
• The role is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
