Role Description
The Senior Construction Manager oversees building construction, quality materials and procedures, budgets, contracts, and alignment with owner expectations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
- Comply with quality policies, objectives, statutory regulations, and project specifications.
- Ensure materials and work procedures meet project specifications.
- Ensure work follows the QA/QC system and is completed safely.
- Monitor subcontractors for quality and timely completion.
- Review short-term planning and advise on problem areas.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and daily project documentation.
- Issue instructions to engineers, supervisors, and other personnel to meet the project program.
- Coordinate required equipment and plant with the Plant Department.
- Complete time allocation sheets to support labor-cost control.
- Prepare daily reports and risk assessments for project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
- 10–25 years of relevant construction or civil project experience.
- Experience in construction project management, planning, and scheduling.
- Construction or contracting industry experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage teams, stakeholders, schedules, conflicts, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools.
