Role Overview
The Plumbing Draftsman will prepare plumbing drawings and shop drawings for landscape and swimming pool projects.
The role translates plumbing and pool piping concepts into precise technical drawings for construction and installation.
Drawings must comply with project specifications, local authority regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare plumbing layout, shop and as-built drawings using AutoCAD 2D/3D for landscape and swimming pool piping networks.
- Develop pipe sizing, routing and hydraulic calculations for pool circulation systems, filtration, water features and landscape plumbing.
- Coordinate with Landscape Architects, Pool Consultants, MEP teams and Site Engineers.
- Review tender drawings, specifications and BOQs to produce accurate working drawings.
- Prepare equipment schedules for pumps, filters, valves, heaters and water feature components.
- Incorporate DEWA, Dubai Municipality, DDA and Civil Defence requirements where applicable.
- Track drawing revisions and maintain proper documentation and version control.
- Support site teams with drawing clarifications and troubleshoot design-related site issues.
- Ensure drawings reflect water-efficient and safety-compliant principles suited to the UAE climate and pool standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience as a Plumbing Draftsman on landscape and swimming pool projects.
- Mandatory UAE experience in landscape and swimming pool projects.
- Experience working within a contracting or consultancy firm is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of pool hydraulic design software is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of pool circulation systems, plumbing hydraulics and pipe networks.
- Familiarity with UAE authority approval processes for landscape, pool and plumbing submissions.
- Good coordination and communication skills for cross-functional design and site teams.
