Role Overview
The Planning Engineer will support planning, scheduling, and project controls activities within the contracting team.
The role focuses on schedule accuracy, project reporting, and data-driven controls for building construction and high-rise tower projects in the UAE.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining baseline programmes and Primavera P6 schedule updates.
- Prepare S-curves, manpower histograms, look-ahead schedules, and resource deployment plans.
- Track progress against the approved baseline and report schedule variances.
- Support delay analysis, Extension of Time claims, and Time Impact Analysis documentation.
- Develop Power BI dashboards for progress tracking and management reporting.
- Collect daily and weekly progress data from site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management and client submissions.
- Review subcontractor short-term programmes against the master schedule.
- Identify schedule risks and escalate them with supporting analysis.
- Support tender and pre-construction planning with programme inputs.
- Maintain schedule revisions, progress records, and planning correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of planning or scheduling experience within a contracting firm.
- Experience with building construction and high-rise tower projects in the UAE.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices, project environments, and local authorities.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for schedule development, resource loading, progress updates, and baseline management.
- Working knowledge of Power BI for dashboards, reporting, and project analytics.
