Role overview
Senior engineering role focused on building and operating highly reliable backend systems at significant scale.
Develop core APIs and real-time data services where performance, availability, latency, and cost are critical.
Combine hands-on backend engineering with strong Site Reliability Engineering ownership in production.
Own systems from technical design and implementation through deployment, incident response, and optimization.
Work remotely with a globally distributed team using asynchronous collaboration.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services for real-time data processing and web APIs.
- Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for core API services.
- Build observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and actionable alerts.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead blameless post-incident reviews.
- Automate operational work and reduce recurring failures and operational toil.
- Conduct capacity planning, load testing, performance analysis, and tuning.
- Investigate production and product issues and translate findings into improvements.
