Role overview

Provide commercial, cost management, and quantity surveying support across fit-out and development projects.

The role sits within the Cost Engineering function under Corporate Planning and reports to the Head of Cost Engineering.

This is a renewable contract role with an initial duration of 15 months.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide commercial and quantity surveying expertise to project teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and the wider supply chain.
  • Review and assess contractor claims, variations, and change requests.
  • Prepare project correspondence, estimates, and cost assessments across project phases.
  • Support cost databases, cost planning, budget development, cost control, and forecasting.
  • Identify contractual, commercial, and cost-related risks and support mitigation measures.
  • Prepare performance reports covering budgets, costs, timelines, variations, and other key indicators.
  • Support subcontractor, supplier, and outsourced service provider selection and commercial evaluation.
  • Provide contractual advice and support contract and procurement strategies.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant quantity surveying or commercial experience.
  • Strong post-contract quantity surveying experience covering claims, variations, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers commercially and contractually.
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience in a UAE or Middle East construction environment.
  • Experience in fit-out, interiors, refurbishment, or major development projects is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CostX or equivalent estimating software, MS Project, MS Office, and AutoCAD.
  • RICS professional membership is preferred.

Contract and availability

  • The initial contract duration is 15 months and may be renewed.
  • Preference is given to candidates available immediately or within 30 days after accepting the offer.
