The employer is seeking a Financial Controller for a fast-growing UK-based investment and financial markets business with international operations.
The role owns finance and accounting activities end to end and reports directly to the General Manager and CEO.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day finance and accounting function, including accruals, journals, reconciliations, payables, and controls.
- Analyse investment and trading information and account for revenue, costs, expenses, and equity-related transactions.
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports, analysis, and cash-flow information.
- Manage accounts payable, vendors, treasury support, banking relationships, and cash monitoring.
- Coordinate audits, statutory reporting, regulatory finance reporting, and capital monitoring.
- Develop finance procedures, controls, governance frameworks, dashboards, and reporting across jurisdictions.
- Improve finance processes, controls, and reporting as the business scales.
Qualifications and Experience
- Five to eight years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge covering accruals, journals, reconciliations, revenue, and cost accounting.
- Experience with investment or trading statements, audit, financial reporting, vendors, and accounts payable.
- Experience in investment, trading, brokerage, financial markets, banking, FinTech, or similar financial services is ideal.
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Xero experience is highly desirable; Power BI or similar experience is advantageous.
- Exposure to UK or international accounting and regulatory environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, independence, and commercial judgment are required.
Workplace and Availability
- The position is full-time and hybrid in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
- Preference is given to candidates available immediately or within 30 days after accepting the offer.
