Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Accountabilities

• Oversee fixed asset and PPE accounting, including capitalization, disposals, impairment considerations, and register accuracy.
• Review complex transactions, contracts, financing arrangements, and other accounting matters under US GAAP.
• Provide senior technical review and resolve potential accounting issues before they become audit findings.
• Improve month-end close through stronger accrual methodologies, cut-off procedures, and fewer manual adjustments.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliation standards, review controls, and ownership for key accounts.
• Prepare audit schedules, reports, supporting documentation, and technical accounting materials.
• Support an accounting software migration by documenting processes, identifying control gaps, and redesigning workflows.
• Assess financial risks, investigate discrepancies, and implement controls to reduce errors and prevent fraud.
• Provide accounting expertise and controllership oversight to leadership and educate team members on policies and controls.

Requirements

• Senior Accountant, Financial Auditor, Assistant Controller, or comparable senior accounting or controllership experience is required.
• Deep hands-on US GAAP knowledge, including complex accounting judgments and capitalization policies, is required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and professional QuickBooks Online experience are required.
• NetSuite experience is preferred, along with the ability to support complex accounting systems and migrations.
• Experience with fixed assets, PPE accounting, accruals, month-end close, reconciliations, audits, and internal controls is required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and independent working skills are required.
