Position Overview

  • The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance Supervisor/Manager and manage day to day bookkeeping.
  • Responsibilities include handling communications with suppliers, external contacts, and internal departments.
  • The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with accounting principles and software.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Financial Accounting

  • Maintain and oversee the books of accounts for all group companies in compliance with IFRS.
  • Supervise and guide Accounts Assistants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage customer refund transactions through banks and online payment gateways.
  • Reconcile daily sales from multiple channels with bank and payment gateway statements.
  • Review and process supplier payments in line with company policies.
  • Record and monitor all financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Manage procurement accounting: issue POs, review quotations, process supplier invoices.
  • Coordinate with HR for payroll processing and manage employee related accounts.
  • Oversee cash management, including petty cash controls and cash flow monitoring.
  • Lead monthly closing process: prepare reconciliations, accruals, and fixed asset updates.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly MIS reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Administration

  • Maintain updated list of all contacts of third party vendors, suppliers, institutional customers.
  • Organize all documentation physically and electronically in an efficient manner.

Qualifications and Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or any related field.
  • Well versed with accounting entries and knowledge of IFRS.
  • Prior accounting work experience of at least 4 years, preferably in UAE.
  • Expertise with accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially MS Excel.
  • Basic UAE VAT and Corporate Tax knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
