Senior Accountant - 6 Month Contract

Role Summary

Accounting Operations

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Manage general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including aging reviews and outstanding-balance follow-up.

Reporting and Close

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis.
• Support management reports, cash flow forecasts, and budgeting exercises.
• Maintain documentation and supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.

Audit and Compliance

• Act as a key contact for internal and external audits and provide required schedules and documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and other regulatory submissions.
• Maintain adherence to internal financial policies, controls, and approval frameworks.

Process and Team Support

• Improve accounting processes, systems, and automation to enhance financial close accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in ERP implementations or enhancements for stronger financial reporting.
• Support development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Guide and review junior accounting staff and provide coaching and technical support.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, treasury, and other cross-functional teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or similar is preferred.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and financial close, is required.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory compliance requirements is required.
• ERP proficiency and advanced Excel skills are required.
• Multinational group or large corporate experience is preferred.
