Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Accounting and Reporting

• Record transactions, perform reconciliations and accruals, complete month-end close, and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial models, and budget-versus-actual analyses.
• Prepare financial, cash flow, and performance reports for management review.

Cash Flow and Banking

• Manage accounts payable, supplier obligations, payment planning, and cash flow requirements.
• Maintain cash flow forecasts and highlight upcoming funding needs.
• Coordinate with banks on accounts, facilities, financing, mortgages, and related documentation.
• Prepare loan, mortgage, repayment, and funding impact analyses.

Cost Control and Compliance

• Monitor expenses, cost trends, variances, and financial performance.
• Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support VAT compliance, financial controls, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate, organized, audit-ready records and financial documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 7–10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• An accounting degree is required.
• Hands-on full accounting cycle experience through month-end close and management reporting.
• Strong experience in budgeting, cash flow management, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, modelling, reconciliations, and reporting.
• High confidentiality, integrity, and discretion with sensitive financial information.

Preferred Experience

• Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
• Microsoft Dynamics ERP or similar accounting or ERP experience is preferred.
• UAE VAT and local compliance experience is preferred.
• Banking, loans, mortgages, and financing exposure is preferred.
• Cost control, expense analysis, and business performance reporting experience is preferred.

Workplace

• The role is performed in person in Abu Dhabi.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 8,000–12,000 per month.
