Role overview

Senior Accountant role supporting carrier cost accounting within a technology environment.

Partners with operations and finance teams to improve accounting processes, data quality, reporting, and monthly close.

Works in a remote-first, globally connected environment with cross-functional visibility.

Accountabilities

  • Partner with Carrier Operations to improve information flow, data integrity, and collaboration between operational and financial systems.
  • Review and document accounting implications of carrier agreements, including security deposits, minimum commitments, and volume-based pricing.
  • Prepare complex accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations for the month-end close.
  • Own monthly P&L and Balance Sheet fluctuation analyses for carrier cost accounts.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and analyze margins at the route and carrier level.
  • Support SOX compliance, accounting policy documentation, and external audit activities.
  • Identify root causes of process inefficiencies and design improvements using automation and AI-enabled tools.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, data, and technology teams on scalable reporting and decision-support solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly quantitative field.
  • At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, month-end close, accrual accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills for complex billing datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools and the ability to build practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and issue-resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or local equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Experience with carrier relationships, telecommunications accounting, or usage-based vendor structures is advantageous.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, Zuora, or BlackLine is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, advanced data visualization, or similar technologies is desirable.

Workplace

  • Remote-first work model based in India, with eligibility across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
  • Occasional in-person team, project, or customer meetings may be required.
