Role Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets within the designated area.
The role requires vigilance, attention to detail, independent work, and effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct premises patrols and monitor surveillance cameras and alarms for suspicious activity.
- Manage access points and verify visitor and staff identification and credentials.
- Respond to alarms, security breaches, and emergencies and assist with evacuations or medical emergencies.
- Maintain records of daily activities, incidents, irregularities, damage, theft, and unauthorized access.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rules and report violations or unsafe conditions.
- Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and vendors and address security-related concerns.
- Ensure cameras, alarms, and communication devices are operational and report malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- A valid security guard license or certification may be required by local or state regulations.
- Strong observation, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Applicants must be able to remain calm under pressure and work independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- The role may require nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work takes place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
Workplace
- Work is performed in person at the designated security area.
