Role Overview
Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations on active building sites to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
The role is operational and on-site, focused on hazard identification, local code enforcement, and routine audits.
Reporting and Workplace
- The Safety Inspector works on active construction sites in person.
- The role reports to an HSE Manager or Project Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily and routine walkthroughs to identify unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and non-compliance.
- Ensure work aligns with UAE labor laws, municipal codes, and international frameworks such as ISO 45001 or OSHA standards.
- Monitor work at heights, scaffolding, excavation, heavy lifting, and confined-space activities.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and worker training sessions.
- Document near misses, investigate accidents, and implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain safety logs, inspection checklists, and weekly compliance reports.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field.
- A recognized safety credential such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH, or OSHA.
- Two to four years of hands-on construction safety experience is required.
- Experience with UAE main contractors is preferred.
- Familiarity with Dubai municipal safety rules and local authority guidelines is required.
- Strong English command is required; Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic is an advantage.
Pay
- The stated pay is AED 3,000 to AED 4,000 per month.
